born 22 Oct 1811 in Slusser, Niagara, New York. His wife's name was
Mary Ann GRAHAM of Niagara Ontario. They became
acquainted at Bradford. In the town of Guelph (now city) They were but a
few years at their home at this place when Mrs. Belfry died, as is
buried April 27th, 1878. Philo is listed as age 69 during the 1881 census.
The youngest for a short time kept the home for her father, but soon
after married and settled within a mile of the city. Mr. Belfry then
made his home with her, and her husband, and on April 16th, 1885, in his
seventy-fourth year, died and was buried at Guelph. They had the
following children:
- Sara Jane BELFRY married Mr.
Daniel MORE, a good farmer near Glen Huron.
Sarah is listed as 38 in the 1881 census, and Daniel is listed as
40.
- Christopher BELFRY - died when 3 months old
- Philo Sherman BELFRY was a
tanner and currier and the harness making business. Also
farmed near Glen Huron, Ont.

wife Mary is listed as age 32 with one daughter:
- Jacob P BELFRY taught school for
some time, and after more education became a book-keeper. He married
Angeline GARTLEY Jacob is listed as 33
in the 1881 census, and Angeline is listed as 29.
- Submit (Mittie) BELFRY is
listed as age 25 during the 1881 census married a Mr. Charles KELLY
a dealer in musical instruments.

- Sophia BELFRY - died 1866
- Dr. Oran Merton BELFRY located in London Ont. He married
Clara SUTHERLAND.
- Joseph BELFRY - clerking business in Newmarket.
- George Edgar BELFRY - is a joiner and cabinet maker by trade.
