He Married Sarah GRAVES March 20, 1823 in Sussex, Kings Co., New Brunswick, Canada. She was born Abt. 1800 in Penobsquis, Kings Co., New Brunswick, Canada. d. Sussex Vale, Kings Co., 13th inst., Sarah HAYWARD w/o Humphrey HAYWARD, left husband, six children. 24 February 1838 NBC Children of Humphrey HAYWARD and Sarah GRAVES are:
Provincial Archives of N.B., RS 108, "Land Petitions," Humphrey Hayward and 10 others petition for land in the Parish of Sussex, Kings Co., N.B., January 31, 1820. In that petition, Humphrey states that he was born in New Brunswick, is 19 yrs old and asks 200 acres. In the same year, Humphrey was witness to the Marriage of Edward Friars and Elizabeth Sheck, dau. of Christopher, 12/5/1820 at Sussex Parish. Humphrey Married twice, but had no children by his second wife, Hannah Ketchum. He lived chiefly at Portage, Kings Co., but died while renting the Haslem farm. He was buried at Sussex.
