Samuel FOSTER born 1786, Clopton, Suffolk - notes courtesy of Marie Foster!

married Frances ANDREWS born 27 Sep 1786, Kenton, Suffolk (daughter of William Andrews and Mary Lomax). They married 19 Jan 1809 at Charsfield, Suffolk. They had the following
children,

  • Samuel FOSTER born 1810, Charsfield
  • Mary Moor FOSTER chr. 1816, Charsfield
  • David Moor FOSTER chr. 3 Jan 1819, Charsfield
  • John FOSTER chr. 1822, Charsfield
  • Emma FOSTER chr. 25 Dec 1832, Charsfield
  • William FOSTER chr. 1832, Charsfield (probably same time as Emma)


David Moor FOSTER (wondering where the Moor came from, this was found on a birth certificate and therefore confirms that I've got the right person and meant I was able to go a little bit further back!) married Ann WOOD and they had:

  • Hannah FOSTER (born 16 Sep 1841, Charsfield), and
  • David FOSTER (born 11 Aug 1850)
  • and I think John as well (born 1845 ish).

David married Sarah Ann GARNHAM, 25 Dec 1869. Sarah Ann was the illegitimate daughter of Emily/Emler and later Emma Garnham and was born 8 Jul 1849, Debach, Suffolk. David and Sarah had,

  • John David FOSTER born 1871, chr 6 Dec 1871
  • Arthur William FOSTER born 1872, chr 15 Sep 1872
  • Ada FOSTER born 1873/74
  • Willie FOSTER born 1876/77
  • Emily FOSTER born 1878/79
  • Hannah FOSTER born 1879/80
  • Walter FOSTER born 1881/82
  • Aubrey FOSTER born 1883/84
  • Godfrey FOSTER born 20 Jun 1886
  • Gertie FOSTER born 1889/90


Godfrey married Roberta Battley 9 Nov 1913 at Ipswich Register Office, Ipswich, Suffolk and they had 2 daughters

  • Cissie Gladys FOSTER b. 6 Mar 1915, d. 15 Dec 2001(ie my Auntie Phyll!) and
  • Edith Lilian born FOSTER 4 Sep 1916, d. 2 Jul 2000.

  • Edith Lilian FOSTER (Marie Foster's granny - photograph) b 4 Sep 1916, Ipswich d. 2 Jul 2000. Edith had 1 son, - photograph of Phyllis and Edith

    • David Victor Godfrey, Ipswich <Private>. David married Geraldine Ruth SAGE <Private>.  They had 2 daughters
