Abigail HAYWARD (George, Henry)

was born Abt. 1813 in Shepody, Hopewell, Albert Co., New Brunswick, Canada, and died June 10, 1833 in Sussex Parish, Kings Co., New Brunswick, Canada.  She Married Michael PICKLES July 05, 1832 in New Brunswick, Canada.  He was born Bet. 1797 - 1818 in Keighly, Yorkshire, England, and died 1877 in Halifax, NS, Canada.

Rev. Michael Pickles was the first ordained Methodist minister to settle in Sussex. His appointment was procured by George G. Hayward. He had been sent from England to New Brunswick as a missionary and was the first saddlebag preacher in the Sussex Vale circuit, an area which was very large, covering some 37 preaching places within its bounds.
